Trends of secondary school learners towards the role of physical education teachers in the development of social values (Students of the High School of the martyr Major Wissam Eid as a model)

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the trends of Secondary School students in the administrative ministry in northern Lebanon towards the role of physical education teachers in the development of their social values.

The study sample consisted of (270) learners from martyr Wissam Eid high school, one of the administrative high schools by (12%), and a questionnaire was used to collect data consisting of (40) paragraphs distributed over (9) axes: (taking responsibility-cooperation-self-control-competition-helping others-respecting others-honesty-leadership – These data were statistically processed through the SPSS program, and the results show that secondary school students in the Administrative Department in northern Lebanon believe that physical education teachers perform their role to a high degree in the development of social values (taking responsibility – cooperation – self – control – competition – helping others – respect for others – honesty – leadership-beauty) among learners.

Based on the results of the study, the researcher recommended building curricula in physical education to ensure that social values are included in the curriculum elements in terms of content and educational activities, and it is necessary for educational officials to pay attention to social values and focus on them during the training courses, so that the participating teachers are explained the most important necessary social values.
