Sports policies as a mechanism for rationalizing political behavior and achieving societal security

Abstract

This study aimed to show sports policies as a mechanism to rationalize political behavior and achieve community security, as the researchers took a scientific approach to studying the complex relationship between politics and sports, while realizing its seriousness and complexity. While sports news may seem to focus on technical aspects, statistics and regional issues, its basic circumstances, works of business and hidden goals are closely intertwined with political affairs. This association is validated to most countries and nations, although its intensity and extent differ according to the ruling regimes. The authoritarian and fascist countries, according to some interpretations, show a greater tendency to politicize and control the world of sports, and to influence their structure, organization, orientation and investments. Where the political exploitation of sports has seen a boom in recent years, and football was a prominent example of this, as it showed its impact on the internal and external Arab political decisions. The study concluded that the successful use of sports as a tool to rationalize political behavior and enhance community security requires the harmony of goals, exchanging information and resources, and concerted efforts between various sectors to achieve a common goal.
