Breaking the Mirror: Anne Sexton’s Poetic Self-Construction: Selected Poems

This study analyses Anne Sexton’s poetry using Linda Hutcheon’s theory of narcissism, as presented in “Narcissistic Narrative: The Metafictional Paradox”. Hutcheon's concept of narrative narcissism, highlighting self-referentiality, self-awareness, and the indistinction between the text and the author, provides an insightful framework for examining Sexton's confessional style. However, this paper examines how Sexton’s poems interact with the self as subject and object, revealing the contradictions of narcissism inherent in her work. Sexton’s poetry often intertwines personal tragedy with extensive creative contemplation, using self-exposure to examine her identity and poetic production mechanics. The conflict between autobiography and metafiction in Sexton’s poetry reflects Hutcheon’s claim that narcissistic writings emphasise their own creation while highlighting identity's precariousness. Hence, this study illustrates how Sexton’s interplay of vulnerability, exhibitionism, and self-aware literary approaches reflects Hutcheon’s notion of narrative narcissism, situating the poet’s confessional voice as both profoundly personal and meta-literary in nature. Moreover, this paper seeks to provide a literary viewpoint on Sexton’s examination of the self while expanding Hutcheon’s theoretical framework to include a poetry medium.

A Pragmatic Study of Media Disinformation: Yemeni Conflict as a Representative

The concept of disinformation is widely spread in media discourse, particularly in relation to the Yemeni conflict. The study examines the impact of media coverage on shaping an unfavorable disinformation among the population by Al-Hadath satellite channel. Regarding the channel, it exhibits hostility towards the Houthi government in Yemen and shows support for the opposing party. In terms of linguistic means, the study aims to examine media disinformation in order to identify the pragmatic tools employed to fabricate this disinformation and deceive the audience with a false version of the truth. The data under scrutiny represent selected an interview and a news report that are broadcasted by Al-Hadath satellite channel. The study adopts two models to examine media disinformation: the first one is an ideological (Van Dijk, 1998), aiming at investigating ideology behind media disinformation while the second is an eclectic pragmatic model, including Levinson (1983) and Yule (1996), aiming at analyzing the pragmatic strategies, particularly the types and triggers of presuppositions. Ultimately, the study concludes that the media discourse of Al-Hadath satellite channel addressing the Yemeni conflict is disinforming, as it seeks to vilify the Houthi government and create a negative impression of them among the public by highlighting fabricated negative features.

“Exploring Gender and Identity in 20th-Century Literature: Feminist Perspectives in Doris Lessing's The Golden Notebook and Angela Carter's The Bloody Chamber”

This research investigates the themes of identity and gender in twentieth-century literature, with an emphasis on the role of feminism in Doris Lessing's The Brilliant Notebook )1962) and Angela Carter's The Bloody Chamber (1979). The research aims to examine how the two writers question and dismantle conventional gender roles, featuring the impact of women's activist ideas in molding female identity inside the setting of the sociopolitical changes of the 20th 100 years. The objectives are to examine the women's perspectives introduced in every text, research the depiction of female independence, and investigate the crossing point of gender, power, and personality in the account structures. The methodology is a relative scholarly examination, using women's activist and gender theory structures to examine the texts. Essential sources, including the two books, are broken down closely by optional academic deals with women's activist scholarly analysis. Key subjects like female freedom, the disruption of man-centric designs, and the rehash of personality are investigated through character development, narrative techniques, and imagery. releases prisoners with scars and tattoos are required to find a social status and to define their position in society. through this, we ask how released prisoners get rid of the social stigma after leaving prison if we consider that society rejects them. between recognizing them as normal individuals who committed crimes for which the were punished and served their prison sentences and were release again, and their continued conviction after release, how do released prisoners reverse the roles and transform prison into an inevitable environement for achieving belonging and social status and considering society as a large prison and a trasmit station until returning to prison again.

Digital existence and its relationship to social behavior among university students

The current research aims to identify:

The researcher (the descriptive curriculum) was used to reveal the level of both digital entity and social behavior and the relationship between them among university students.

To achieve the objectives of the current research, the researcher adopted the digital entity scale (Al-Mousawi, 2021), and the researcher also adopted the social behavior scale (Schwan, 1989), and then the scale was applied to a sample consisting of 400 male and female students from the university. The data was processed with appropriate statistical methods and the results appeared next:

The segment of university students has a digital entity.
There is a statistically significant difference in digital literacy based on the gender variable (male-female), with females being more favored..
The segment of university students has social behavior according to the gender variable (males and females).
There is a statistically significant correlation between digital literacy and social behavior among university students.
Based on the results reached by the researcher, she developed recommendations and proposals.

The impact of electronic accounting information systems on the efficiency of cost systems in industrial companies

This research aims to identify the impact of electronic accounting information systems on the efficiency of cost systems in industrial companies, as well as to evaluate the degree of awareness of employees of the importance of electronic accounting information systems, and to present a proposed framework for improving the efficiency of cost systems in industrial companies. The research revealed that the correlation coefficient is 0.606, which indicates that there is a high positive correlation between the application of electronic accounting information systems and the efficiency of cost systems in industrial companies. Therefore, we accept the hypothesis that "there are no differences between the opinions of the researched sample about the expected impact of the independent variable "electronic accounting information systems" on the dependent variable "efficiency of cost systems in industrial companies". Considering the coefficient of determination, electronic accounting information systems explain 36.7% of the impact on the efficiency of cost systems in industrial companies.

Violence in modern and contemporary Iraqi Painting and its impact on children's drawings

Modern and contemporary Iraqi art is considered one of the most important artistic means of expressing the reality of Iraqi society and conveys multiple messages. One of the important topics addressed by visual arts is violence, which reflects the experience of the artist and his society. The research focuses on understanding the impact of violence in Iraqi visual art on Iraqi society and how this impact is reflected in their depictions and creations. These artistic works are an important gateway to understanding the reality experienced by society, expressing their feelings and unique perceptions. The presence of violence in society may result from the influence of contemporary Iraqi visual art, and it may have an impact on their mental and psychological growth. This study aims to analyze the works of contemporary Iraqi visual artists who have used the theme of violence in their works, studying the impact of these works on Iraqi society and the extent of violence depicted in them. The researcher reached important conclusions that violence in contemporary Iraqi visual art has an impact on Iraqi society. This impact can reflect images and symbols of violence in various forms, whether through depicting violent scenes or using dark colors and welcoming expressions, which may affect their growth and thinking. Obstacles to the application of e-learning as a new form of post-Corona An applied study on the Higher Institute of Engineering Technologies / Tripoli

Abstract:

The study aimed to identify the obstacles facing e-learning after the Corona crisis, and with the aim of achieving the objectives of the study, the researcher used the descriptive analytical method, and used a questionnaire as a tool for the study. It consisted of (13) paragraphs covering three Interviewers : the first is the technical obstacles, the second is the administrative and organizational obstacles, the third is the personal obstacles of faculty

members, a sample was selected in a stratified random manner. The study sample consisted of (80) faculty members from the Higher Institute. For engineering techniques, the number of questionnaires recovered was (75) sheets, at a rate of (94%), And the loss of it (5) amounted to (6%) the statistical program (SPSS) was used to analyze the questionnaire data based on the Cronbach’s alpha test for validity and reliability.

After analyzing the data, the study reached the following results:

The absence of financial and technical support for the institute, which weakens the trend toward e-learning .
Most of the faculty members at the institute prefer traditional education compared to e-learning, due to their practice this type of education is more than e-learning.

The Offense of Electronic Extortion in the Libyan Legislation

Recently, the offense of electronic extortion has spread and entered the scope of emerging crimes, which is one of the forms of electronic crimes that arouse terror and fear in the victim, as the extortioner with weak souls lures the victim to pressure and extortion her, which forces the victim to comply and respond to the extortioner's demands and carry out actions that harm him, his honor and his money.

This study aims to shed light and highlight a new and dangerous Offense that has recently appeared over the Internet and represents a violation of the sanctity of private life.

This study addressed the legal structure of the Offense of electronic extortion in terms of its concept, characteristics, and elements of the Offense of electronic extortion, as well as the attempt and criminal contribution to this Offense.

After presenting this study, we concluded that the Offense of electronic extortion is characterized by characteristics that distinguish it from traditional crimes in view of its connection to the Internet and modern technology, as well as the criminal behavior appears in an unclear and intangible manner, as its refuge is the virtual world. The Offense of electronic extortion is realized if it is related to the threat by the perpetrator to the victim to do or refrain from doing an act.

The study recommends the necessity of spreading awareness among Community members and their awareness of this dangerous Offense and urging victims who are exposed to this Offense of the importance and necessity of notifying the security authorities and not submitting to the perpetrator’s requests and working to include the Electronic Offenses Law No.5 of 2022 on the Offense of electronic extortion and creating security agencies and providing them with qualified cadres entrusted with combating electronic extortion Offenses.

Public-Private Partnership in Jordanian Law and Its Role in Overcoming Contemporary Challenges

The public-private partnership has gained great interest as the economic and social development process depends on mobilizing and gathering all the potential of the society to participate in establishing and operating various projects after the independent institutional organizations have faced challenges and difficulties in achieving the development goals at the target levels. Therefore, both developed and developing countries seek to create institutional structures, legislation and systems to adopt participatory organizations in which all sectors of society contribute to serving their objectives on the basis of cooperative participation, good governance, transparent accountability and mutual benefit. The research problem examines the need to keep pace with the legislations of this subject to achieve its objectives. The researcher aims to analyze the legislative requirements in light of development needs and practical and administrative problems applying the concepts of transparency, disclosure and cooperation. The scientific method is applied in this study by executing the analysis and comparison approach to achieve the required results and provide the relevant and appropriate recommendations in this field. The main findings of this study are the urgent need to activate the partnership between the public and private sectors In the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. This requires reviewing the relevant legislation and enacting complementary laws to ensure that this partnership achieves its objectives.
