Abstract

The study aimed to present spectacle games related to equestrianism in its beliefs, rituals, and even in its transmitted legend passed down through generations in the urban context of the city of Ouargla within the framework of an anthropological study of social representations.

The researcher used an ethnographic methodology based on participant observation and interviews in a case study approach, which included practitioners of this game in the sample.

The research concluded through the study of the sample that "equestrianism in its old-fashioned way" is a sustainable heritage of Ouargla folklore, and its practice is considered a sporting ritual.
