Abstract

Sports are a religious requirement in Islam. Just as this religion emphasizes spiritual development, it also encourages the cultivation of strong physical health.
Vocal exercise involves training the organs responsible for producing linguistic sounds, entrusting them through repetition, practice, and continuous refinement to master various vocal performances aimed at enhancing the recitation of the Holy Quran and performing it correctly according to the rules of Tajweed. This contributes to understanding and appreciating its aesthetics. In ancient times, Arabs coined various terms for it, including "Irtiad" (acclimatization), "Tamreen" (exercise), "Mu'alajah" (processing), and "Tadreeb" (training).

Its reasons are diverse, including the spread of melody, the challenge of producing certain sound units, articulating sounds from their origins, or imbuing them with their qualities, as well as modifying pronunciation habits.

Methods of vocal sports include observation, repetition, relaxation, critique, and the Artiphony approach.

Vocal sports has many benefits, including achieving vocal performance safety, acquiring eloquence and correctness of pronunciation, the quality of articulating sounds and their qualities and composition, understanding and contemplating the Quranic text, improving worship practices, and consequently fostering psychological well-being.
