Abstract

Football is the most popular sport in the world, especially in the Arab world, as it is considered the center of sports for children and all age groups. Politicians, media figures, and businessmen pay special attention to it, as it has become an important part of people’s culture and has been linked to many other topics and fields, such as identity, society, and literature.

This article discusses the interconnected relationship between the world of football as a sport, identity, social structure, and the field of contemporary Arabic literature. This research studies how literary, media, social and political discourse is affected by “football” and interacts with it, revealing a strong relationship between the cultural, social and artistic dimensions of football and the power of the written word and images.
