Abstract

Fjords are strategic trading areas and sea-lanes to boost international trade. Globalization has helped to increase the strategic importance of straits and to take care of them for the development of maritime transport activities such as containers. The Strait of Gibraltar is considered one of the natural straits that has undergone significant transformations after the opening of the Suez Canal. Its privileged location between Africa and Europe has shaped its transition from an international corridor to a logistics station to serve maritime trade, enable transshipment between north and south, east and west, and create integration with the road. Imperial.

The research study aims to study the Strait of Gibraltar as an international corridor, and to highlight the development it has undergone as part of the transformations of the maritime transport sector to become a service station of the globalization of maritime exchanges, particularly at a distance.
