(AL FUSUL WAL CHAYAT) by Abo Al-Alaa Al-Ma'arri

Abstract

Proverbs are the most important literary genres used in the Arabic language. Because they are ready-made linguistic template, and despite the importance of proverbs in Arabic and other languages; But he did not receive study and attention, compared to other literary genres, or even the study of the language of proverbs or how to employ them in linguistic texts.

Because of the importance of the proverb in the language, I began my study to combine two peaks in the language (the proverb) and the book (alfusul walghayat fi tamjid  allah walmawed) By Abu Al-Ala Al-Maarri, the research follows how Al-Maarri used proverbs

My study was an introduction that included an introduction to proverbs and its characteristics, and an introduction to the book (alfusul  wal ghayat). The study was organized into two sections: the first: employing proverbs as an educational function and a moral function, and the second: employing proverbs as an ethical function and a psychological function.                                                  

We conclude the research with the most important results drawn from the research, and a list of sources and references included in the research.
