Abstract

Criticism is the way to the development of science, and Muslims, especially the commentators and hadith scholars, have paid great attention to criticism, in order to determine the authenticity of the hadith in terms of the chain of transmission and the text. Criticism must be based on reliable scientific foundations in order for it to be correct criticism. In this research, criticism will be highlighted. The foundations of text criticism were established by one of the commentators of the ninth century AH, the commentator Ibn Raslan, through his explanation of Sunan Abu Dawud. This research has been divided into three axes as follows:
