Abstract

" Samaï " is a classical form of Arabic music. The dance of Sufi whirling dervishes is among its most popular practices, for that reason, we often see them in trance. Due to its rhythmic and maqamic structural qualities, it presents a sense of self-hypnosis. however, it procures the synchronization of the respiratory and the rhythm together.

On the other hand, the notion of maqam, especially "béyeti" has a singularity in terms of interpretation and alliance of the acoustic image and the mental image.

which could be sometimes a resource of energy and positivity as well could be hypnotizing.
