Effectiveness of a training program based on the digital competence approach in developing mobile learning skills among social studies teachers

Abstract

This research examined a digital literacy training program designed to improve mobile teaching skills in social studies teachers. Key training needs were assessed through a questionnaire, resulting in five areas chosen by teachers: presentations, web integration, email, blogging, and data projectors. The program, incorporating 45 sub-skills, was developed based on existing research. Using cognitive and observational assessments, the program's effectiveness was tested on 30 Karbala secondary school teachers. Analysis showed a statistically significant improvement in both cognitive knowledge and practical skills, demonstrating the program's success in boosting mobile teaching abilities.
