Digital existence and its relationship to social behavior among university students

Abstract

The current research aims to identify:

1. The concept of digital being among university students.
2. The existence of statistically significant differences in digital being among university students according to the gender variable.
3. Social behavior among university students.
4. The existence of statistically significant differences in social behavior among university students according to the gender variable.
5. The relationship between digital being and social behavior among university students..

     The researcher (the descriptive curriculum) was used to reveal the level of both digital entity and social behavior and the relationship between them among university students.

To achieve the objectives of the current research, the researcher adopted the digital entity scale (Al-Mousawi, 2021), and the researcher also adopted the social behavior scale (Schwan, 1989), and then the scale was applied to a sample consisting of 400 male and female students from the university. The data was processed with appropriate statistical methods and the results appeared next:

1. The segment of university students has a digital entity.
2. There is a statistically significant difference in digital literacy based on the gender variable (male-female), with females being more favored..
3. The segment of university students has social behavior according to the gender variable (males and females).
4. There is a statistically significant correlation between digital literacy and social behavior among university students.
5. Based on the results reached by the researcher, she developed recommendations and proposals.
