The role of El heddaf newspaper in guiding the sports reader's views (Analytical study of Al-Heddaf news paper)

Abstract

This study aims to highlight the role of el Heddaf  newspaper in guiding the sports reader's views through its pages. In order to determine the types of journalism most commonly used by this newspaper and whether it addresses sports topics and issues that contribute to guiding sports public opinion, for this reason, we conducted an analytical study. The findings were that the international target paper relied on the use of certain types at the expense of others and the lack of topics of an educational and orientation nature, such as addressing the issue of violence in stadiums and public intolerance. The lack of diversity in the treatment of topics by the written sports press leads us to say that the latter does not fulfil its role of responsibility in guiding the reader on ethical issues such as sports issues and promoting these values in society.
