Abstract

This research aims to study the behavior of merchants towards the emergence and development of commercial areas by analyzing the "demographic of companies" thought, which is based on studying the movement of economic establishments and dealing with commercial areas as family members in terms of birth, growth, development, migration and death. In this study, the researcher used descriptive and analytical approaches for data analysis, as well as personal interviews and fieldwork, which was embodied in the method of the questionnaire and was analyzed using the statistical analysis program (Spss). In order to achieve the study’s objectives, Iqzir Street was chosen as a model for studying the modern commercial areas in the Misurata center, and a stratified random sample was chosen that amounted to (97 ) of the shops by (57%).  The study showed many results, most notably that the high population density is one of the most important factors affecting the success of the commercial areas, followed by the presence of intense competition between the shops and the high purchasing power of those customers.
