Revolutionary Documentaries During The Algerian Revolution And Their Role In Consolidating The Values Of Citizenship

Abstract

During the second half of the twentieth century, the Algerian revolution was the most important event that occupied the political arena, either at the national or international level, perhaps this is what enabled her to headline the media at the time, hence, the cinema, particularly the documentaries films, dealt with the issue of the Algerian people and their glorious revolution in general and principally, and as consequences; several documentaries fulms have appeared, that were filmed, directed and produced by personalities with experience and competence in this field, whether they are foreigners in solidarity with the national issue, or Algerians who have taken upon themselves the task of defending their national issue in their own way, and instilling the principles and values of patriotism in the spirits of their generation and the future generations.

The object of the study is to highlight the importance of the documentary picture in drawing the memory of history, and to show the methods of the misleading and the guidance through the picture in sensitive and current issues, and its role in preserving the collective memory of the Algerian revolution, and the extent of its contribution to consolidating the values of citizenship in the spirits of the past and the current generations, so the documentary picture of the Algerian revolution – in view of its association with real events - remains the subject of a very important bet in drawing a picture of the common history between Algeria and France.
