Abstract

This article examines the issues of reform in the Arab world before the First Great War. It is usual to study this subject by analyzing the reformers’ ideas and works or by looking government’s reforms. However, this paper is trying to study it by analyzing newspapers. It looks for those reforms from “Al Omran” newspaper between 1908 and 1912. It is clear that were there a group of reform trends, and who was writing in Al Omran tried to make a collection between Arabic privacy and Ottoman sovereignty. In their point of view for reforms, they focused on the political issues as a main problem; then munched education, finance, and society issues.
